Philipp obtained a diploma in graphics design at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig, specialized in type development and programming. He worked over a decade as a font engineer where he created Python programs that powered the production pipeline for clients like Spotify, Slack, and The New Yorker.

At Real Python, Philipp creates and reviews video courses, in-depth Python tutorials, quizzes, and supporting learning materials.

Besides working with Real Python, Philipp is a freelance software engineer and co-host of the Django meetups in Berlin.
